SUMMARY:Noël à Table - children 7 - 14 years
DESCRIPTION:Noël à Table\nNoël à Table is a new dining etiquette course to prepare children for the Christmas social season.  It combines dining etiquette with the social skills related to dining both in the home and outside.  The children will know how to represent themselves beautifully at the dining table in any company and they will have a few weeks to practise before Christmas.  Over a beautiful luncheon at the Hôtel d’Angleterre\, children will learn: \n\nFormal and informal place settings;\nCorrect use of utensils and napkin;\nGracious table manners;\nThe social etiquette around dining with others;\nHow to be a good host and a good guest in someone’s home;\nRestaurant rules.\n\nNoël à Table is for boys and girls ages 7 – 14 years.  The cost per participant is chf240. \nChf220 – Early bird rate for places booked and paid for before 28th October. \nIncluded is a two course lunch and certificate of participation. \n  \nThe same event will run on two dates; families should select their preferred Saturday:\nSaturday 21st November 2026\nOR\nSaturday 28th November 2026\n12 midday – 1.30pm\nHotel d’Angleterre\, Geneva\n  \n  \nBookings via info@swissetiquette.com\n  \n\n\n \n\n\n\n  \nFAQs\nIs this a one-off class or part of a series? \nNoël à Table is a children’s dining course teaching the art of dining and being a good host and guest.  It is intended as a one-off ‘bootcamp’ for table manners and hosting.  The children learn a lot in the class.  Children who have taken a dining etiquette class before are welcome back for a refresher. \n\n\n\n  \nWho is the teacher? \n \n\n\n\nRhoda attended Swiss finishing school where she studied international etiquette and protocol.  She is certified to teach children’s etiquette and business etiquette.  She has taught etiquette to royal children. \n  \nDoes the course just teach Christmas etiquette? \nThe class is timed so that it will be useful for families for the Christmas season.  But the skills learned are equally useful for dining out\, occasions such as birthday parties\, and every day dining.  In the broader perspective\, strong dining skills help to build confidence in many different situations. \n\n\n\n  \nWhat language is spoken in the class? \n\n\n\nThe class will be delivered in English.  As at many dining tables in Geneva\, there is normally a variety of languages represented at these classes.  The teacher will be accompanied by assistants who also speak French and Spanish and will be there to interpret for the children if needed. \n\n\n\nIt is important to note that this is a very practical class and the real learning is through observation and practice.  Through each part\, the teacher demonstrates and the children copy.  The teacher goes around the table and helps each child. \n\n\n\n  \nWhat can we expect when we sign up? \n\n\n\nParents will receive a confirmation message on receipt of payment.  In the week before the class\, those enrolled will receive an email with practical details.  Included will be a menu.  Parents are encouraged to show this to their children and talk about the food that will be served. \n\n\n\n  \nWhat is the dress code? \n\n\n\nChildren are asked to dress smartly\, appropriate to the venue.  If your child would like to dress ‘up’ for the occasion\, they are certainly welcome to do so. \n\n\n\n  \nDoes my child have to eat the food? \n\n\n\nChildren are encouraged to try the food but are not obliged to eat in the class. \n\n\n\n  \nWhat is the protocol for allergies? \n\n\n\nParents are asked to advise of any allergies or restrictions before the class so that their child can have suitable food. \n\n\n\n  \nWe’d love to do a class but are not available on these dates.  What can we do instead? \nYou are invited to email info@swissetiquette.com to be notified about upcoming group classes or to book a private lesson. \n  \n\n   . \nThank you.
